DOUGLAS, Wyo.—The search continued Saturday for a Converse County sheriff’s deputy missing since he swam in to a swollen river to save a struggling girl.

Twenty-nine-year-old Bryan Gross has been missing since Thursday evening. He jumped in the North Platte River to assist a teenage girl, who survived.

The incident happened about in Douglas, about 50 miles east of Casper. The river is higher than normal following heavy snows last winter.

An airplane donated by a local rancher has been used in the search.
