COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A Colorado Springs woman has pleaded guilty to child abuse causing serious bodily injury to her young daughter.
Samantha Salaz pleaded guilty Wednesday as part of a plea deal in which she agreed to testify against her aunt Mary Horsley.
Both women were arrested in April after investigators said there was evidence the girl had been put in a cold shower with black electrical tape over her eyes and mouth. Investigators say the girl also had tape around her wrists and ankles.
Salaz could be sentenced to 14 to 28 years in prison at a hearing in September.
