CENTENNIAL, Colo.—An Arapahoe County jury has acquitted a man who was charged with careless driving resulting in death after his vehicle pinned a woman walking through a gas station parking lot.
Prosecutors said Wednesday that jurors had acquitted 43-year-old Byron Bailey of the misdemeanor.
Prosecutors say Bailey struck 62-year-old Sandra Fredin as he pulled into a parking space at a gas station in Centennial last October, trapping her under his vehicle. Gas station customers tried unsuccessfully to lift the vehicle off of her. She later died of her injuries at a hospital.
