A Lakewood man accused of fatally striking a tow-truck driver with his vehicle faces nine charges, including first-degree murder with extreme indifference, driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.

Zachariah Dobler, 28, also is charged with vehicular homicide while under the influence, reckless driving, violation of bail bond conditions, circumventing an ignition interlock device, first-degree aggravated motor vehicle theft and violation of a protection order that barred him from drinking alcohol.

Police say Dobler was driving a Nissan Rogue that struck Alan Eugene Dilley, 41, of Wheat Ridge around 1:40 a.m. Sunday as Dilley was preparing to tow a car involved in a crash at an Arvada intersection. Dilley was thrown 120 feet and later died. Police arrested Dobler a few blocks away.
