JOHNSON LAKE, Neb.—Four people face charges in an assault at a Johnson Lake home that authorities say was racially motivated.

Gosper County Sheriff Dennis Ocken told KRVN ( ) the victim of the assault last Thursday suffered a broken eye socket, fractured skull and a stab wound. The person’s name has not been released.

Ocken says three Johnson Lake residents and a Canon City, Colo., man are charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree assault against a person because of race and theft by unlawful taking.

They’re being held on $50,000 bail. Each faces up to 51 years in prison if convicted.

The suspects are to be arraigned Aug. 12 in Gosper County Court.
