FORT CARSON, Colo.—The new commander at Fort Carson is Maj. Gen. Joseph Anderson.
The Army said Thursday Anderson will take command of the post outside Colorado Springs, as well as the 4th Infantry Division. He replaces Maj. Gen. David Perkins.
Anderson is currently director of operations, readiness and mobilization for the Army deputy chief of staff at the Pentagon.
Previously he was chief of staff at Fort Hood, Texas, deputy commander of the Army Recruiting Command at Fort Knox, Ky., and chief of staff for the multinational force in Iraq.
The Army also says Brig. Gen. Darsie D. Rogers Jr. will be deputy commander at Fort Carson. Rogers is currently commander of the Joint Forces Special Operations Component Command in Iraq.
