A second Brighton city employee was arrested Thursday in connection with a robbery last Friday that police say was a hoax.
Bernadette Haigh, 41, a seven-year employee of the utilities department, was arrested earlier this week. She told police last Friday that she was robbed of money meant for a bank deposit.
Instead, police suspect she took the cash and checks herself and gave them to an accomplice. The amount was not disclosed.
Thursday, police arrested 35-year- old Quentin Rivera, a city employee since October 2007.
He faces charges of felony theft and embezzlement.
Rivera is being held in the Adams County Detention Center on $2,500 bail. Haigh remains in custody on $5,000 bail.
