GRAND JUNCTION — Police say they’re doubtful that a recent discovery of the complete DNA profile of serial killer Ted Bundy will help solve the disappearance of a Grand Junction woman 36 years ago.
Authorities know that Bundy was in Grand Junction that spring, thanks to a gas-station receipt. For decades, authorities have suspected Bundy may have been responsible for the unsolved disappearance of 24-year- old Denise Oliverson on April 6, 1975.
However, police told The (Grand Junction) Daily Sentinel that the discovery last week of a full vial of Bundy’s blood likely won’t close the Oliverson case.
Before his execution in Florida in 1989, Bundy confessed he had dumped a body in a river outside of Grand Junction, but he offered no other details.
