Denver police released a sketch Sunday of a man suspected of impersonating a police officer and pulling over a driver last month.

Denver police received a call about 9 p.m. July 29 from a woman who said she was driving north on Park Avenue West near Globeville when a man driving an unmarked white Ford Crown Victoria with red and blue lights on top pulled her over.

The man told the woman he was a Denver police officer and asked for her driver’s license and car registration.

Police described the suspect as a Latino man in his early 40s who is about 5 feet 6 inches tall and has spiky black hair and a potbelly. He was wearing dirty blue jeans and a light blue uniform shirt with a ripped breast pocket.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867) or . Text messages can be sent to CRIMES (274637) with the title DMCS and a message.
