The Los Angeles City Council voted to pursue a $1.4 billion football-stadium and convention-center project with Anschutz Entertainment Group.
The company controlled by Denver billionaire Philip Anschutz has asked the city to sell $275 million in municipal bonds to tear down part of the facility where the stadium will be placed and build an addition.
Construction would not begin until the project passes state environmental reviews and Anschutz finds a National Football League team to play in the stadium.
