British pop star made her way across the pond and into the hearts of her young Denver fans with her hour long set at the on Monday night.
Visibly ill, Goulding tried her best to please her fans while fighting a summer cold that undoubtedly held her back from the performance she had wished to give. Between coughs and moments when pre-recorded backing tracks overpowered her live voice, Goulding won the sympathy of her audience receiving waves of “We love you Ellie!” shout outs throughout the show. Her Facebook fan page wall was peppered with well wishing fans leaving notes that read “Feel better, Ellie!” during the preformance.
The rising English songstress plays a brand of pop that falls somewhere between the Kate Nash and Adele. Songs like “Starry Eyed” and “Mistake” have certainly been produced to feed the hit machine but she offered a folksy tenderness with songs like “The End” and her cover of Elton John’s “Your Song.”
