Year-to-date passenger traffic at Denver International Airport for the first half of the year was up 2.6 percent above the same six-month period last year.
Airport officials reported today that 25,621,310 travellers passed through DIA through June, an increase of 641,479.
Earlier this year, it was discovered that one of the airlines operating at DIA had inadvertently misreported a portion of its passenger traffic during certain months in 2010 and 2011.
As a result, the airport’s passenger traffic is actually higher than first reported in 2011 and is lower than originally reported in 2010.
Last year was still a record-breaking year for DIA with nearly 52 million passengers traveling through the facility, making it the busiest in the airport’s 16-year history.
The correct passenger traffic through December 2010 is 51,985,038 (previously reported as 52,209,377).
