COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Jason Giambi is returning to the Colorado Rockies after helping the Colorado Springs Sky Sox pull out a win.
Giambi went 3-fo-3 to help the Sky Sox take 7-2 lead in Wednesday’s game against the Memphis Redbirds. The Sky Sox went on to win 7-5.
The 40-year-old has been on the disabled list since July 27 with a strained left quadriceps. The series against the Redbirds was his first appearance since then.
The Sky Sox set a franchise record for attendance during Giambi’s stint. Over 27,000 fans attended the four-game series.
