BARCELONA — Hundreds of young people, many of them tourists, clashed with police early Thursday in Lloret de Mar on Spain’s northeastern Costa Brava, police said.
Twenty-two people, including nine police officers, were reported to have been slightly injured. Twenty tourists were detained. Most of them were between 20 and 22 years old.
The violence broke out after police prevented more people from entering a discotheque where the air-conditioning system had stopped functioning. The people who were inside the discotheque had to leave.
