Taylor Phinney of Boulder lost the overall lead in the Eneco Tour with an eighth-place finish in Thursday’s third stage.

Philippe Gilbert of Belgium won the 119-mile stage from Heers to Andenne, Belgium, finishing eight seconds ahead of a group including Garmin-Cervelo’s David Millar, and 37 seconds ahead of Phinney’s group.

Phinney fell to eighth place, 34 seconds behind, while Millar was third overall, trailing by 13 seconds.

• New Zealand’s Jack Bauer won the second stage of the Tour of Utah, and Colombia’s Sergio Henao overcame a late crash to retain the overall lead.

Bauer finished the 100.7-mile stage that started in Lehi and wound around Utah Lake in 3 hours, 33 minutes, 43 seconds. Garmin-Cervelo riders Thomas Danielson and Christian Vande Velde remained in eighth and ninth place, respectively.

The Avalanche announced that single-game tickets for three preseason home games at the Pepsi Center go on sale Monday at 10 a.m.

The games are: Sept. 23 vs. the Blues, 7 p.m; Sept. 25 vs. the Stars, 6 p.m.; and Sept. 28 vs. the Kings, 7 p.m.
