All light- rail service between the Interstate 25/Broadway station and downtown Denver will be shut this weekend beginning at midnight tonight so RTD can complete needed construction in advance of Monday’s reopening of the Central Platte Valley rail line to Union Station.
During the weekend closure, the Regional Transportation District will operate shuttle-bus service linking the I-25/Broadway station with Union Station, and separately with the Theatre District/Convention Center station on 14th Street.
The Platte Valley rail line that serves Auraria West, Invesco Field, Pepsi Center/Elitch Gardens and Union Station has been shut down for three weeks so workers could complete construction of the new Union Station light-rail platform at 16th Street and Chestnut Place. That rail service resumes Monday.
