CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The largest gathering of poets in North America has crowned a team from Denver as the new champion of its annual poetry slam competition.
Denver’s Slam Nuba was named the winner Saturday night after a four-team final bout at the Berklee Performance Center in Boston.
The annual National Poetry Slam! attracted more than 300 poets from around the country. Poetry Slam is a combination of spoken word and performance art.
During the competition, poets from each team performed their work before a live audience, and judges awarded each performer one to 10 points.
