One man was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly robbing a bank in Colorado Springs.
At 6:15 p.m., officers were called to the Academy Bank inside the Walmart at 707 S. Eighth St., according to the Colorado Springs Police Department’s blotter.
A teller at the bank alerted a woman inside the store that she was being robbed.
The man said he had a weapon, but one was never seen.
Witnesses said the man looked like a transient who may have been staying in the area.
The man had fled the store by the time officers arrived. Police searched the area and a police dog was brought in to assist.
After more than two hours, officers located and arrested Rodney Wayne Maines, 54 of Colorado Springs, on suspicion of aggravated robbery.
