One car broadsided another car near U.S. Highway 36 and Wadsworth Boulevard early this morning, leaving behind a shower of debris and causing traffic delays.

Traffic Sgt. Rick Kempsell, of the Broomfield Police Department, said a car heading northbound on Wadsworth Boulevard ran a red light and hit a car trying to make a left turn onto Highway 36.

No one was injured.

Broomfield police were sweeping the road of sharp debris early this morning and expected traffic to move smoothly again by 7 a.m., Kempsell said.

Traffic was being re-routed onto U.S. 36 while crews cleaned up.
