An off-duty state corrections officer was arrested Thursday after tests showed he was more than three times the legal limit to be too drunk to drive when his pickup collided with a van carrying a young family Saturday morning.
Jason Ashley Ulrich, 38, of Aurora was released on $50,000 bond on felony counts of vehicular assault relating to the alcohol and vehicular assault relating to reckless driving.
Police are still awaiting the results of tests to determine whether he had drugs in his system as well.
The father of the family in the crash, Jonathan Price, 36, remained in critical condition at Littleton Adventist Hospital. Price’s wife, Diane, 32, and the couple’s 2-year-old daughter were treated and released.
