Seven people were displaced early this morning because of a fire in their home in the 4400 block of West Gill Place.
The call came in to dispatchers at 1:04 a.m., said Lt. Phil Champagne, spokesman for the Denver Fire Department.
When firefighters arrived, the blaze in the basement of the single-family home was fully involved.
The seven people who lived there were able to get out on their own, Champagne said. One person was injured in the process and taken to the hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.
Firefighters put down the fire in about 15 minutes, but there was significant damage to the home and all the residents were displaced.
The Red Cross responded to assist the four adults and three teenagers.
Champagne said no firefighters were injured and the fire did not spread to any other buildings.
Investigators are working to determine a cause for the fire.
