A proposal to redevelop the downtown Boulder site that served as the Camera newspaper’s home for nearly 120 years will go before two city boards Thursday night.
Los Angeles-based Karlin Real Estate, which bought the buildings at 1043 Pearl St. and 1032 Walnut St. for $9 million in 2010, has proposed building a 160,000-square-foot, four-story structure with below-grade parking, ground-level retail and offices in the upper stories.
The proposal also calls for three “glass box” features that include a plaza on the western side of the 55-foot property that could allow for public uses — such as a café, performance space or meeting space — and access to a public roof deck with 180-degree scenic views of Boulder, according to city documents.
The Planning Board and Landmarks Board will meet Thursday night for a rare joint review.
