
ERIE — The city has been crawling this week with television producers, cameramen and one international broadcast sensation. But their working set has been anything but glamorous.
Richard Hammond, co-star of “Top Gear,” a longtime BBC favorite that also shows on BBC America, has spent more time battling the stench of soiled diapers and rotting lettuce than palling around with Tinseltown types in Colorado. That’s because the British star since Monday has been shooting an episode of a new TV series, “Richard Hammond’s Crash Course,” at the Denver Regional Landfill. The network is keeping the series under wraps. However, the Daily Camera learned that Hammond is being taught how to use various pieces of heavy equipment. Daily Camera
