WHEAT RIDGE — A 3-year- old Wheat Ridge girl who was the subject of an Amber Alert was found safe Friday night.
According to the alert, Sara Singleton was last seen about 4:15 p.m., walking south from her home in the 3600 block of Upham Street. A witness said she was walking with an unknown white male.
But about 8:45 p.m, she was found safe in her father’s apartment, according to Division Commander Joe Cassa of the Wheat Ridge police. Cassa said the father made the original call to police reporting his daughter missing from the same apartment.
Sara lives with her mother in another apartment just a block away.
Officials are sorting out what happened but say there was no abduction. Cassa said the description of the man who was thought to have been seen with her would not fit a description of the father.
