Dodson’s lawyer denies wrongdoing.

The attorney for former University of Colorado track star Jeremy Dodson issued a statement following Dodson’s arrest on suspicion of identity theft.

Dodson was charged Wednesday with nine felony counts of identity theft. His agent and attorney, Vince Ewing, said in his statement that “the Boulder DA and the Boulder Police Dept. arrested the wrong person. Jeremy’s ID was lost, and apparently an unidentified person has used it. The conduct of that person caused the DA to issue an arrest warrant.”

Ewing added that Dodson looks forward to cooperating with police and that charges will not be filed after the discovery process is complete.
