WALSENBURG, Colo.—The Dougherty (DAHK’-ur-tee) siblings are due in court Monday in the southern Colorado county where they’re expected to be tried for an alleged multistate crime spree.
The three siblings—29-year-old Lee Grace Dougherty, 26-year-old Dylan Dougherty Stanley and 21-year-old Ryan Edward Dougherty—are expected to be formally charged with attempted murder and assault Monday afternoon in Huerfano (WEHR’-fah-noh) County. The trio has been held in neighboring Pueblo County, but prosecutors announced last week that they believe Huerfano is the proper venue.
A crosscountry manhunt for the Doughertys ended in Huerfano Aug. 10 after a high-speed chase on Interstate 25. Authorities say the trio robbed a bank in Georgia and shot at police officers in Florida and Colorado. They’re also suspects in two car thefts in Utah.
