The Denver medical examiner today identified the woman who was stabbed to death in the 1500 block of Uinta Street over the weekend.
Juanita Smith, 48, died of a stab wound to the chest.
Shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday, Denver police received a call for a verbal fight that escalated. When officers arrived, they found Smith.
Medics took her to Denver Health Medical Center, where she later died.
The medical examiner ruled her death a homicide. Denver police are holding Deon Porchia, 46, as they continue their investigation.
