Battling yogis. Cutthroat yoginis. All going for the win and taking no prisoners. It’s not the typical imagery associated with yoga.
But on Saturday at the Louisville Farmers Market, 50 yoga teachers and students will take to the Steinbaugh Pavilion as part of the Colorado Regional USA Yoga Championships and duke it out for a chance to move on to the nationals next year.
It’s the third year the farmers market has played host to the competition.
“A lot of other yoga places don’t get it — they say, ‘How can yoga be competitive?'” said Kelly Williams, owner of the Louisville Farmers Market. “But in India they’ve been having competitions for centuries.”Get more at .
