Jeff Campos, the former president and CEO of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Denver, was in court today to tend to procedural matters in his misdemeanor assault case.
The 56-year-old resigned last month after he was initially arrested on kidnapping and assault charges stemming from an altercation with a female chamber member with whom he had a close relationship.
In Denver District Court on this morning, Campos was denied a request to drop his bond from $50,000 to a personal recognizance one, and was told he no longer had to report regularly to pretrial services.
His case was continued until Sept. 23 because of “voluminous amounts of discovery,” his attorney, Lara Marks, said. Campos is reviewing police HALO (high activity location observation) video footage taken from the area where the altercation allegedly occurred, Marks said.
