Hinkley High School in Aurora will dismiss at 12:30 today, the school district announced in a media release.
The air conditioning is out after a power outage, and since many windows cannot be opened, the school is extremely hot, the district said.
The district is working with Xcel Energy on repairs.
Students who ride the bus will be picked up at 12:30 and taken to their normal stops.
Outdoor athletic practices will begin immediately after the early dismissal, but all other after-school clubs and activities are canceled.
