DENVER—Scavengers looking for treasure in a northwest Denver lake that is being drained have found 13 rings, a 1935 buffalo nickel and a silver Mercury dime.

Berkeley Lake is being drained as part of a $3 million bond project to improve the lake with a berm and a trail.

Phil LaRocco tells the Denver Post () he has waited 35 years for Berkeley Lake to be drained.

LaRocco says his father found 67 gold and silver rings in two weeks when the lake was low in 1976.
