Only 11 flights — all arrivals — are canceled today at Denver International Airport due to Hurricane Irene. No departures have been canceled, airport officials report.

On Sunday, 77 flights were canceled at DIA due to the hurricane — 37 departures and 40 arrivals.

United Airlines, DIA’s largest carrier, will resume flights at New York area airports at noon today, and at a number of East Coast airports.

“The aftermath of Hurricane Irene may force some additional delays and cancellations of scheduled flights to the region,” the airline said in a statement.

Southwest Airlines and Frontier Airlines also are resuming service to and from the cities affected by Hurricane Irene.
