Defenseman Josiah Didier of Littleton and forwards Daniel Doremus of Aspen and Matt Tabrum of Colorado Springs were among eight incoming freshmen formally introduced by the University of Denver hockey team Monday.

The Pioneers’ coaching staff previously confirmed that the three Colorado products would join the program when training camp begins next month. They make up an 11-member freshman class that includes defensemen Scott Mayfield and Joey LaLeggia and forward Zac Larraza, who were formally introduced in the spring.

Also joining DU are goalies Juho Olkinuora and Zack Hope, forwards Ty Loney and Larkin Jacobson and defenseman Wade Bennett.

Olkinuora will begin camp as the backup to junior Adam Murray, who is replacing Sam Brittain while last season’s starter recovers from major knee surgery. Brittain, who as a freshman won the Keith Magnuson Award as DU’s defensive player of the year, might be available by January.
