BRIGHTON — Former Brighton Collegiate High School teacher and track coach David Lange was sentenced Monday to 90 days in jail after pleading guilty to attempted sexual assault on a 14-year-old girl in 2009.

Lange, 40, also was sentenced to 10 years of intensive supervised probation for sex offenders and can have no contact with anyone younger than 18, according to the Adams County District Attorney’s Office. Deputy district attorney Sharon Holbrook said Lange “displayed a pattern of conduct where he groomed students to gain their trust and then he betrayed that trust.”

Lange is the fourth teacher at Brighton Collegiate, formerly known as the Brighton Charter High School, to be charged with sexual misconduct since 2007.
