Police arrested four men suspected of four different ATM burglaries in Denver, and several other burglaries in the metro area this summer.
Robert Smith, 32, Vicente Aguilar, 28, David Albie Barela, 24, and his twin brother, Davey Robert Barela, 24 are suspected of multiple burglaries between June 13 and Aug. 15, according to a news release from the Denver Police Department.
Smith was already in custody on unrelated charges when the other three were arrested at their homes on Monday.
All four men are being held for the investigation of burglary, theft and criminal mischief.
Smith, Aguilar and David Barela are each being held for the investigation of 10 felony counts, and Davey Barela is being held for the investigation of three felony counts.
At 3:40 a.m. on Aug. 15, the men allegedly stole an ATM machine from 1696 South Broadway after backing a pick-up truck into a building and loading the machine into the bed.
Later that night, detectives were called to the 3300 block of South Zuni Street in Sheridan, where they later found a pick-up truck matching the description of the one used in the robbery.
The truck was abandoned with an ATM in the back.
The machine had been forced open and the cash removed. Investigators later learned that the truck had been stolen hours before the burglary.
