The driver of a trash truck was seriously injured this morning, after he fell out of the truck and it rolled over him.
At 10:50 a.m., deputies were called to the 12000 block of Daniles Gate Road near Castle Pines North on a report of a pedestrian that was hit by a trash truck, said Sgt. Ron Hanavan, spokesman for the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
After arriving, officials learned that the man was leaning out of the driver’s side door to move a trash tote when he fell out of the truck.
The man, who has not been identified, was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, before being airlifted to a metro hospital.
South Metro Fire Rescue also responded to the call.
