FORT COLLINS, Colo.—A man who accused Colorado Attorney General John Suthers of poking him in the chest has been convicted of false reporting.
Robert Trucker was sentenced to 150 hours of public service and fined $200 after being convicted Thursday of the misdemeanor charge. The Loveland Reporter-Herald ( ) reports that a Larimer County jury deliberated 40 minutes before reaching a verdict.
Trucker accused Suthers of poking him in the chest and pushing Trucker’s camera during a discussion about a ballot measure last year. The Larimer County Sheriff’s office cleared Suthers of wrongdoing and said there was no evidence to support Trucker’s claim.
Suthers testified during Trucker’s trial this week that he talked with Trucker but there was no physical contact.
