The Larimer County commissioners heard from Colorado Department of Transportation and county engineers Wednesday as they presented the final environmental impact study of potential transportation improvements in the region.
The corridor covers a 60-mile region from Wellington to Union Station in Denver, between U.S. 287 and U.S. 85.
After three public sessions this month, more than 30 days for public comment and review of feedback from agencies within the 45 jurisdictions affected by the project, project manager Carol Parr anticipates CDOT and the Federal Highway Administration will decide how to proceed with the endeavor sometime in mid-October.
After that milestone, crews will start project designs almost immediately, said Martina Wilkinson, a Larimer County traffic engiNeer, even though the money to build them will not materialize for many years.
