Aurora Police are searching for two men who attempted to rob a Wal-Mart tonight in the 13900 block of East Exposition Avenue.

Around 10 p.m., two males — described as black in their 20s — entered the store and pointed a gun at the greeter working near the front door, said Sgt. Cassidee Carlson, an Aurora Police spokeswoman.

The men forced the employee go to an open register, where they removed money before fleeing the store. On their way out, they shot at the security vehicle parked outside and pointed a gun at a customer, Carlson said.

The suspects ran southbound away from the store on foot, and police responded by calling in canine units to try to track them down. By 11 p.m., the search was called off.

One suspect is described as wearing a black and white checkered shirt with jeans. The other is said to be wearing a black do-rag, black shirt and jeans, Carlson said.

Anyone with information should call the Aurora Police Department, 303-739-7000 or CRIMESTOPPERS at 720-913-STOP (7867).
