• Grand Junction running back Jerreon Dennis knows that he must have a big senior season in order to land his first scholarship offer.

He started things the right way as his team dominated Highlands Ranch on the road during the first week of the season. As for his recruitment, he is considering schools within state borders. “I am still talking with schools like CSU, CU, CSU-Pueblo,” he said, “and a lot of Colorado schools for the most part.”

• Regis Jesuit lineman Matt Boselli was an all-conference pick as a junior. As a senior, he is working hard to help his team bounce back from a Week 1 loss to Valor Christian. But the loss hasn’t hurt Boselli’s stock in the eyes of college coaches.

“I went out to CSU-Pueblo and visited with their coaches over the summer,” he said. “Sioux Falls has sent a little bit and I got a letter from CU. They invited me to a game, but nothing really.” Added Boselli, “There are also some smaller Nebraska schools.”

• Frederick running back Dalton Hall and his teammates scored a huge upset win on Friday over Prairie View. His latest: “I have talked a little but to UNC, CSU, and Montana as well,” Hall said.

• Palmer defensive back Shayne Justice may not be a house-hold name, but he is working hard to help his team make another postseason run during the 2011 season. On his recruitment: “Within the state, I’ve heard a little from Air Force, Western State, Fort Lewis, School of Mines, and Northern Colorado,” he said. “Outside of the state, it has been Weber State and a lot of smaller D-III schools.”

• Horizon running back Andrew Patrick has been working hard to improve on the huge numbers he posted last fall as a junior. But, as of yet, it hasn’t turned his recruitment up a notch. “”I’ve gotten some from Nebraska-Kearney, CU, Nebraska-Wesleyan, and some school in San Diego,” Patrick said.
