Weekend reports indicate fishing was generally slow, likely because of warm waters, plenty of food and heavy fishing pressure. Rivers including the South Platte and Poudre reported solid action with terrestrials, such as ants and hoppers, being top producers. While some waters are open to kokanee snagging, only Green Mountain has reported any action. Many eastern and metro waters are reporting an abundance of shad. Anglers fishing around the bait are picking up a few wipers at North Sterling, Pueblo and Jackson. Yellow perch action is good on most waters, including Boyd and Aurora. Worms are a good bet.
