Aurora Fire crews pulled a man in his 60s from Quincy Reservoir tonight, started CPR and rushed him to a nearby hospital, where died a short time later.
The man’s name has not been released.
He was floating about 15 feet offshore, said Aurora police spokeswoman Cassidee Carlson.
There was no boat or fishing equipment, but police found a bag with several possessions, including a hat, a poncho and a wallet, she said. The man was wearing normal clothes, including shoes, Carlson said.
His body has been turned over to the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office for an investigation.
The man was spotted in the reservoir at about 7:30 p.m..
Quincy Reservoir is in south Aurora off East Quincy Avenue and a mile east South Buckley Road. The lake is used frequently for fishing, swimming, bird watching and boating.
