Denver International Airport officials are monitoring elevated levels of fecal bacteria in nearby Third Creek after a sewage overflow was discovered a week ago.

The staff is not certain that the elevated levels of the bacteria are directly related to the sewage leak, DIA announced Friday. But aviation manager Kim Day said DIA “is working to resolve the problem and will continue to help mitigate any potential impact to the environment.”
