A man accused of ripping off another man’s pinky while stealing an iPad pleaded guilty Friday to aggravated robbery.
Brandon Darnell Smith grabbed a bag with an iPad from Bill Jordan who had just purchased it April 15, 2010. The bag was wrapped around Jordan’s hand when Smith yanked it so hard that the strings of the bag stripped the skin on a part of Jordan’s pinky down to the bone.
Smith also pleaded guilty Friday to second-degree assault for solicitation to commit murder after a letter was intercepted that asked a friend to “take care of” the victim. The sentencing is set for Oct. 28.
