LARAMIE — Brett Smith ran for two touchdowns and passed for another as Wyoming beat Texas State 45-10 Saturday.
Smith scored on runs of 29 and 2 yards in the first-ever meeting between the teams. He completed 16-of-31 passes for 236 yards and had two interceptions as Wyoming gained 618 total yards on offense and converted 11-of-16 third downs.
Ghaali Muhammad rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown, and Brandon Miller added 101 yards for Wyoming. Miller and Alvester Alexander each scored on 1-yard runs.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys’ defense held Texas State to 189 total yards, including a net minus-1 yard on three possessions by the Bobcats during the third quarter.
