Denver-based Newmont Mining Corp. announced today that it was named to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for the fifth consecutive year.
The sustainability index includes approximately 300 global companies identified as leaders in the areas of sustainability and economic, environmental and social performance.
Newmont as been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index every year since 2006. In 2007, it became the first gold company included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index.
The index tracks the performance of 2,500 leading companies worldwide, evaluating their long-term economic, environmental and social performance.
