Prosecutors are seeking records of all past evaluations done by two psychiatrists who found Stephanie Rochester to be legally insane and also are asking permission to have their own psychiatrist examine the Superior woman who is accused of murdering her 6-month-old son.
Prosecutors say they want to review past evaluations of other defendants done by the psychiatrists, one of whom works for the defense team and one of whom works for the state mental health hospital in Pueblo, to look for trends in their determinations.
Prosecutors also want to have their own expert interview and assess Rochester.
Defense attorneys already have objected to the request for an additional evaluation by the prosecution and are expected to object to the request for past records.
Rochester has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to charges of first-degree murder and child abuse resulting in death.
