Nick Wise came home from work on Sept. 2 and immediately knew something wasn’t right with his 5-year-old Rottweiler named Bomber.
“He literally just bowed his head like he did something wrong,” Wise said.
Wise got in for a closer look and discovered a nail, driven into Bomber’s right eye.
Nick rushed Bomber to the Veterinary Referral Center of Colorado. Emergency doctors removed the 3.5-inch nail, but could not save Bomber’s right eye.
Wise believes a neighbor – using a nail gun to reattach planks on a common fence – accidentally shot Bomber in the eye. He said Bomber got out through a doggy door while he was at work and went to the fence because of curiosity.
