YORK, Pa. — A jury found the Pennsylvania parents on trial in the death of their 7-year-old adopted son from Russia guilty of involuntary manslaughter.

The York County jury on Friday found Michael and Nanette Craver guilty of involuntary manslaughter, four counts of child endangerment and one count of conspiracy. Prosecutors had sought a murder conviction.

Prosecutors said the Cravers abused and neglected Nathaniel Craver, who officials say died of a head injury in 2009. Defense attorneys said the child’s injuries were self-inflicted.
