A 72-year-old man who pleaded guilty to a long time Ponzi scheme was sentenced today in Larimer County to a five-year prison term.
Richard Mayfield entered a guilty plea to felony theft on July 21, according to the Larimer County District Attorney’s Office.
Prosecutors said Mayfield bilked at least 22 clients, including elderly and at-risk adults, of more than $271,000.
He ran The Maverick Sales Group and Richard H. Mayfield and Associates between the mid-1990s and 2010.
